I'm tempted to re sign up for my ancestory account...(wish it wasn't so expensive) I received a hint of my great grandfather's signature of ship's passage from Ireland, to Canada and eventually to America.

I always read your posts because of your disdain of ai. I know it's a real human sharing real human thoughts. That's priceless to me.

Thanks for reading! My grandmother had been a history teacher and she lived with us in her 80’s and 90’s. I think she instilled in me a love for real stories and learning from the past. I think it matters where our stories come from. I somehow was able to get free access to the Ancestry site a couple of times, the Gemini search got me in as well.

Synchronicity seems to be working fine for me, but I prefer to take small doses of the dramatic arts and wouldn’t willingly touch AI with anything less than a ten foot pole. I’d like to believe in a perfect world where AI would do the difficult and/or boring stuff and free us humans up to be human, but it’s more economical to pick the low hanging fruit before it’s ripe and truck it off to market in a plastic bag. But I doubt AI could become god unless it can make money obsolete.

Europe has deepened my appreciation of the past and how it connects to the present. Each of us is living history. Recently, I’ve come to the poignant realization that it’s too late for some questions I should have asked years ago. I love that you are tracing your roots back to an inflection point three generations ago. We’ll have to get together sometime and discuss our common ancestors.

I am envious of the living history you are surrounded by. The problem is AI is aligned to do the human stuff that makes us human, because the people that are developing it hate humans. If I ever get this project done we’ll have much to share!

Thanks AMP. Seeing him play it live was incredible. His shows are like revivals.
